About our discontinuation
Dear SendPass user,
We want to share an important update with you regarding the future of our service.
SendPass started in 2019 as a free initiative to share passwords in a safe and simple way. What began as a cost-free service attracted interest from organizations that needed additional business-oriented features, such as API access, custom branding for recipient pages, and other functionality. To meet those needs, we introduced SendPass for Business.
Today, we must announce that we will be discontinuing SendPass, both the free version and SendPass for Business. While the product has a clear purpose and has been valuable for many organizations, there is not a sufficient basis to continue the service in a sustainable way.
Over the past years, the need for password-sharing tools has been declining. Many modern applications already support passkeys, magic links, and single sign-on (SSO), which reduce the reliance on shared passwords altogether. Continuing to develop SendPass would require ongoing investments to ensure the platform remains secure, but given this market forecast, we have decided not to actively develop the tool further.
There are alternatives available that pursue the same goal with more active development and therefore provide a stronger long-term solution for organizations.
What does this mean for you?
- As of today, it is no longer possible to start a new SendPass for Business subscription.
- Existing monthly subscriptions will not be renewed after December 31, 2025.
- Users of the free SendPass version will be able to use the tool until December 31, 2025.
- Annual subscriptions will continue until the end of their current term but cannot be renewed beyond that date. Annual subscriptions that expire before December 31, 2025 will be converted to a monthly subscription until December 31, 2025.
- You can log in to your subscription portal at any time to view or manage your account details: Manage your subscription. From there, you can also choose to cancel your subscription earlier if you prefer not to continue until the end of this year, or the running term in case of an annual subscription.
- You will be able to share passwords until December 31, 2025, or the end of your subscription. Recipients will be able to collect passwords until their original expiry date.
